WPA, with sister organisation CPA, once again hosted a stand and a series of engagement events at this year’s MIPIM – the world’s leading real estate conference.
A key focus of our presence was to promote the ‘Manifesto for Growth: Post-Brexit’ and we were delighted to discuss pillars of the Manifesto with Gavin Barwell MP (Minister of State for Housing and Planning, and Minister for London) and James Murray (Deputy Mayor of London for Housing and Residential Development).
To help implement pillar 1 of the Manifesto on greater UK collaboration, the Associations hosted a breakfast roundtable at the Department for International Trade pavilion with senior representatives from other UK cities including Belfast, Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Sheffield.
The details on the establishment of the Sheffield Property Association (S-PA) were revealed at MIPIM – the Association model that is based on Westminster Property Association and City Property Association is the first to be established outside of central London (read here)
WPA also hosted The Westminster Lunch, attended by 50 of the industry’s leading figures. The lunch was held at The Majestic Hotel with speakers including Jules Pipe (Deputy Mayor of London for Planning, Regeneration and Skills) and Robert Davis MBE DL (Deputy Leader of Westminster City Council) and Lucy Musgrave (Founding Director, Publica and CPA Board member) who discussed the importance of placemaking for central London.
Thank you to all those members who visited the stand and we look forward to welcoming some new members to the Association, who introduced themselves at MIPIM.
