WPA would like to thank all members who attended our Autumn Reception on Thursday 24 November. The event hosted at the newly completed 30 Broadwick Street saw over 150 members attend.
Keynote speaker John Walker, Director of Planning at Westminster City Council, praised the style and quality of the newly developed building and the benefit it will bring to Soho. The Director of Planning also spoke about the PPA Funding Agreement and how important it is for both the Council and the Developer, he stressed that:
‘Thanks to the co-operation of the WPA the PPA agreement funds 17 posts in Development Planning and we have retained posts and increased staffing to meet demand. None of this would have been possible without the PPA funding over the last few years. I cannot stress how important the PPA funding is to us.’
Great Portland Estates Development Manager, Piers Blewitt, paid tribute to the efforts of all the team involved and introduced members to the building, describing some of the features and aspects of Great Portland Estates’ latest development.
A champagne reception was provided upon arrival and Colliers, who are the agents for the building, offered guided tours of the 5th floor to all members and guests.
