Over 100 members attended the launch of the ‘Crossrail 2: Catalyst for Growth in Central London’ report on Monday 3 April 2017, with the Deputy Mayor of London for Transport Val Shawcross CBE.
The report, commissioned by the WPA’s Transport & Infrastructure Committee, highlights how denser development could help maximise the economic benefits of this vital piece of infrastructure and allow London to pay as much as possible towards it cost.
At the launch event, members heard from Ms Shawcross, Professor Tony Travers (Director at LSE and Chairman of the London Finance Commission) and Charles Pinchbeck DL (Director at JLL) about the importance of Crossrail 2 for economic growth in London and the rest of the UK.
At the same time as the launch event, Craig McWilliam (WPA Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of Grosvenor Britain & Ireland) was interviewed about the Crossrail 2 report on Ian King Live: The Big Interviews show on Sky News.
