Sustainability Summer Showcase

23 Jul 2024 to 23 Jul 2024
8:00 am to 10:30 am

In partnership with Westminster City Council, we welcomed over 120 people from Westminster’s leading organisations and businesses to our Sustainable City Charter Summer Showcase.

Guests heard advice, best practice and case studies from some of Westminster’s top businesses on how they are reducing carbon emissions from their buildings. These included gamifying energy reduction, workspace zoning and consolidating suppliers to cut down on deliveries.

Hosted at Somerset House, Cllr Ryan Jude (Cabinet Member for Climate, Ecology and Culture, Westminster City Council) delivered the welcome to attendees. Alongside the Chair of the Sustainable City Charter Steering Group John Davies (Head of Sustainability, Derwent London) who moderated the panel session, our line-up of speakers included:

  • Marc Flemming, Architect, E8 Architecture, on behalf of Paddington Arts
  • Charlotte Gilks, General Manager, Makerversity
  • Rosa Han, Associate Director, Programme Management, The Portman Estate
  • Andy Mazzucchelli, Senior Energy Manager, Landsec
  • Laboni Saha, Fashion Designer & Creative Director, L Saha

The Sustainable City Charter is an innovative business-led climate action pledge containing eight commitments for reducing carbon emissions from non-domestic buildings. It is a network of likeminded businesses and organisations, covering over 28 million sq ft of commercial floor space in Westminster.
