WPA was proud to launch the Sustainable City Charter on Tuesday 15 November, at a seminar held in partnership with Westminster City Council and supported by New West End Company and London Heritage Quarter.
The Charter is a pledge between businesses and the council aimed at reducing operational carbon emissions and improving sustainability across the commercial built environment in Westminster. Developed by the WPA and Westminster City Council it will play a key role in the drive towards delivering a net zero city.
Guests at the launch heard from Cllr Adam Hug, Leader of Westminster City Council and Cllr Matt Noble, Cabinet Member for Climate Action, Regeneration and Renters, Westminster City Council, who spoke about the need for collaboration between private and public sectors to decarbonise Westminster’s commercial building stock. Our two expert panels discussed the business imperative for sustainability, and how the Charter will work in practice.
